12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.Deuteronomy 14:9-10 says:

Only one comment? (I've been busy so haven't read for a bit - *I* am where you go when you're "over the river and through the woods"). OK, regarding Leviticus, &c. Yup, I'm Jewish, in the old-fashioned raised-by-a-Jewish-Mother way. But I made a Sacred Pact with de Lawd a while back. I am never going to kill in rage - and since passing 50 I will never again break any other commandments.
In exchange, I'm allowed to eat Certain Things without fins and scales and that live in shells and stuff - as long as they're not out of the Mediterranean where they have parasites. (Also barbecued ribs but that's a different deal.)
