Stitch n' Bitch tonight/Prop 8 protest
Hey my stitchers and bitchers at WeHo - just an F to the YI, there's going to be a ginormous protest outside of El Coyote on Beverly tonight.

Expect Beverly to be utterly unpassable starting at around 4 p.m. between La Brea and Fairfax.

Plan your route accordingly.

This has been your traffic report for the day.

Man, that's got to be the worst hundred bucks that woman ever spent.

I can't help but think, though, that this is almost turning into a witch hunt. Boycotting is one thing, and something that I fully support. But why go after a single person who did what her church told her to do? Isn't it more appropriate to go after the church?

I keep thinking of this post: http://slog.thestranger.com/2008/11/yes_on_8_from_the_inside

For Faith's readers who don't know me, I am not posting this as a criticism but as an honest question: Is this the right thing to do?

Also, thanks - I'll be sure to take 3rd.

You're right on the account that it was the worst $100 she ever spent. Regarding the boycott, if the owner of a restaurant you frequented -- say Bob's Donuts -- donated money to prevent Californians from homeschooling, I would say you would probably no longer spend your money there. Am I correct?

Also, MAJOR protests have been carried out at Mormon Temples throughout the country including two at the L.A. Temple.

I am absolutely not questioning the boycott. I won't be patronizing them myself (though I haven't been there in a few years so it's hardly a boycott) and will boycott any other business that spends my money in ways I disagree with. It's only the rally that I am wondering about - and not necessarily disapproving of, just not sure.

In my view - the rally is to let people know about the boycott. It is one of the best ways to get the word out.

At the risk of sounding really dumb, I hadn't thought of that.

She had an opportunity to set things right like that theater director. She didn't. She was even given two chances, and both times she rejected it.
